Texture project

I used the textures tutorial to get inspiration to play with textures with a photo of my friends who are getting married soon. The bride really likes romance and things like that, so I wanted it to look like a romantic old photo or a love letter or something like that. My friends and I have an inside joke about how they met at movie night, so I wanted to use that theme to add text. I used a stock photo of a movie reel as a banner which was from stockunlimited.com. I had to remove the background from the original photo using the quick selection tool. Then I used the gradient map to convert it to black and white. I was thinking about using a filter on the couple like in the tutorial, but they didn't really look right. I placed the couple on the vintage paper background and used multiply mode to make them fade onto the paper texture. I added a bit of a black gradient from the bottom going up and increased the levels to make their faces pop a bit more. I added a satin blending option to the film reel and a bit of beveling to the text. I think it looks pretty cute!
